Connected my HP Pavilion to a rather old TV and picture is GREAT. It even worked with my 7-pin S-video slot even though it is only a 4-pin. I originally tried to find a VGA cord but couldn't find one combined with audio to convert to RCA. This cord was just what I needed.If you're worried about each plug reaching the slot on your computer - don't be. The cords pull apart to just the length you need (my audio jack is in front while my S-video is on the side). It's not just a matter of plugging it in though. On your laptop, you plug in the svideo and the audio (you will probably have to pull it open to reach your audio plug on your laptop, it's no big deal), then plug red, yellow, white into TV.Now, change the input on your tv to where the plugs are located (either AV, HDM1, Component, etc.) You then have to change your settings on your computer. Here's how I did it on my XP laptop. You have to go to Control Panel, Display, click on your Graphics tab (do not click General, Adapter, Monitor, Troubleshoot or Color Management). Click on your graphic properties and click either multiple or dual display. You then choose your primary device (laptop) and then your secondary device (television). Click Apply and OK. You should now see your screen on the tv. It's not High Definition quality, but if you want to watch your netflix or any other streaming videos, it works... Read more |
