Black Diamond Push Telemark Ski Boot - Men's Reviews

I hardly ever write reviews, however after having rented a pair of these recently from a local shopI am inclined to warn people away from this boot. First of all, it feels and rides like an alpine boot, and by that I mean that when you ski and you weight your rear leg, the boot is so stiff as to actually hurt the bones in your lower leg. Second of all, the liner has this strange and totally ineffective set of wires that must be ratcheted closed with this clicking wheel at the top of the boot, followed by wrestling with two plastic flaps that must fit over the wires, it is ridiculous! Third, part of the liner bulges out in such a way that it feels like someone dropped marbles between your foot and the liner so you can only keep them on for about 1 hour at a time. I hear the newer models are better, if you are inclined toward this boot, look to the 2011 model and do not consider this one. Only the Custom is stiffer, however I am not to that level. The boots fit like a dream and are easy to walk in. They have a release mechanism in the back that allows ankle flexion (also for touring). Anyhow, love these boots and I have at least 50 days on them. Showing little wear and holding up well. I did put the fancy insoles into them when I was fitted, as this was recommended by the fitment dude. He said the only weakness was the OE insoles. I bought them at the Tele shop in Summit county. The real question is why are we looking at high... Read more |
