That may have been the result of the milk I used. My second attempt I followed the directions from "The Idiots Guide To Cheese Making" and it turned out wonderful (using the same brand milk). She had served the mozzarella and tomatoes as an appetizer. I knew immediately this was not store bought cheese so I asked her where she got it. I was completely surprised when she told me she made it that afternoon and knew I had to try this myself. I LOVE to cook and since I never made cheese before, I was so intrigued. I found the kit to have very clear directions. It only took an hour and it was a fun activity. It is going to be one of my top holiday presents. However, the instructions were clear, and I followed the step-by-step instructions to the T. It came out great! I added in strawberries to one batch, and herbs to another- they came out delicious and fresh. Definitely would make this another time, this time with my daughter!Also, the video on the website was extremely helpful- I'd recommend watching it before you begin making the cheese for the first time. |
