There are a lot of "fake CHI" accusations flying around here. I can assure you, most of the people saying these things are misunderstanding the relevant facts. I'm going to try and break it all down for potential buyers, then I'll give my review of this flat iron, so feel free to skip ahead.First of all, it's important to understand that "CHI" and "CHI Home" are two different brands with different products. They are both by Farouk and both are listed on the Farouk website. The product you are currently reading reviews about is a "CHI Home" product, NOT a "CHI" product. "CHI" products include the original "CHI" ceramic flat iron that everyone knows and loves. This original "CHI" and other "CHI" products can only be sold by authorized dealers. Perhaps I should have looked a little bit closer at this product before ordering it as it does not say "genuine". If you think you are getting the real deal, a CHI by Farouk flat iron like they use in salons, you are mistaken. I was instantly suspicious of the packaging this came in. The packaging was incredibly cheap and not what I was expecting given the reputation of the CHI brand. When I took the iron out of the package it felt just as cheap as it looked. A quick flip through the manual intensified my suspicion that this was a counterfeit product as there was no mention of Farouk, the manufacturer of the CHI flat irons.
