5.0 out of 5 stars Well done ubisoft!, September 1, 2009

This review is from: Theatre of War (DVD-ROM)
When I first noticed the game I thought there would be similarties with Sudden Strike 3, which I have played before, and I was right, they are similiar. This is s strategy game based on controlling many units at one time,Armor,Infantry,Artillery,Airpower ect. I just completed the training stage and fought my first battle, where I was in command of a German armored column consisiting of King Tigers, Panthers,Mark IV and other armored vehicles who`s mission it was to silence the guns by the river so the rest of the German forces could break out. After about 30 minutes the Red Army sent me packing. But I was not surprised, its just what I expected for my first outing. I was impressed at the historical accuracy and details of the German and Russian tanks, the way they looked, moved and sounded was awesome! The interface was easy to use and can be learned rather quickly and the music which I consider very important if your going to play a game for a few hours, very pleasent. This is a... Read more

The game loaded onto my father's computer without event, but the trouble began with trying to start the game up. When you double clicked on the icon, an error message appeared and the desktop inverted itself. After hours of trying to find ways to rectify this I finally gave up. We downloaded update patches and contacted the seller of the game (who was of very little help to me. Finally answered my question and request for help 2 weeks after I posed it, and at that point I was just fed up). So, we never got to play this game at all since I returned it. Hope you all have more success than we did. I would strongly encourage you to make sure that your system meets all requirements to play this game before purchasing. As it turned out, the seller told me that the manufacturer revised certain requirements for your system beyond what was listed on the website (my guess is because so many people were having trouble with the game).

3.0 out of 5 stars Why there are no reviews for oldies, August 27, 2002
By
Aldo Kubota (Valdez, Alaska United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Command & Conquer Red Alert Expansion: The Aftermath (CD-ROM)
This is a decent expansion of one of the bestselling RTS games made. This almost, neccesary update will take down both strategies than made Allies useless in the basic game. I mean, the TANK rush and the tesla nightmare. 8 of 10 multiplayer games in RA1 will pick soviets for these reasons, and after several conversations with other gamers and forums, it was stated that after 3 minutes, there was absolutely no way to stop this technique with allies. Of course, sea can give you a chance, but, oh, players HATE sea, therefore you wont be able to make cruisers, whatsoever. You are doomed. Aftermath brings the solution, by slowing down certain building structures speed, allowing you to stop that pesky IN base multi tesla. And also you get some usefull units for the allies to get some chances vs the soviets. Not to forget that heavy tanks blockade protecting those v2 rockets.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's not that great!, January 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Command & Conquer Red Alert Expansion: The Aftermath (CD-ROM)
This addition to the original Command and Conquer: Red Alert is fun for a while, but it gets boring fast. The add on levels are extremely hard, the units just buff up the Soviets more, so that they are basically unstoppable in multiplayer games. Another thing that really annoys me is that the new levels aren't supposed to go in any particular order, you can play them in whatever order you want.

This review is from: Command & Conquer Red Alert Expansion: The Aftermath (CD-ROM)
Command & Conquer Generals "rocks!" The sound, story line, and special effects are awesome. If you like to kick terrorist ass "buy the game asap!" Generals is worth every dollar. Make sure your video card is at least 64 MB. I have a ATI Radeon 9000 64 MB. By the way! This game is not racist!!!! If you think the terrorists in this game are some sort of freedom fighters "YOU HAVE A BIG PROBLEM. GET SOME PROFESSIONAL HELP!" Bush/Cheney 2004
